REVELS HOUSTON ANNOUNCES 2026 PRODUCTION OF "THE CHRISTMAS REVELS"
Revels Houston proudly announces its thirty-third presentation of THE CHRISTMAS REVELS. There will be five performances of this family-oriented, musical holiday delight, December 18-20, 2026, at The Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (The MATCH), 3400 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77002.
THE CHRISTMAS REVELS is an annual stage production that showcases winter traditions from various cultures and time periods. This year's production, “The Christmas Revels: A German / Alpine Celebration of the Winter Solstice” explores the German origins of familiar Yuletide customs such as decorated trees, "Silent Night," children's Christmas stockings, and manger scenes. St. Nicholas himself guides the audience through the 19th Century winter celebrations from Bavaria and the surrounding Alpine regions of Switzerland and Austria. Featuring traditional Bavarian dancing, legends, and joyful holiday music, this year’s production highlights both Alpine folk music and pieces from some of Germany's most famous composers, including [Schubert, Schumann, Praetorius, and Schütz].
