Join us and discover the magic.
Revels interactive performances feature the song, dance, musical and storytelling traditions of diverse cultures. We blend these elements into seasonal celebrations, demonstrating how differing cultures throughout the ages are fed by the same great river of myth, story and song.
2025 Performance: A Scottish Celebration of the Winter Solstice
This year's Christmas Revels is set in eighteenth-century Scotland, and will be filled with dancing, singing, story-telling, the occasional bagpiper and traditional Revels hijinks. Somewhere on the spectrum between pantomime, musical theater and choral concerts, The Christmas Revels is holiday fun for the whole family!

Upcoming Auditions
We are searching for singers to become members of both the adult and children's choruses! Sign up required.
Creative Team
Steve Kalke is excited to join Revels Houston as Music Director and is looking forward to a great season. He serves as the Head Choir Director at McMeans Junior High School in Katy ISD. He has held that position for 14 years. He is also the Assistant Choral Director of the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra. His choirs have consistently earned both local and national attention including having been selected twice for the Music for All National Choir festival and twice won the Mark of Excellence Nation Choir Honors.
Steve holds a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Houston and has taught students of all ages for the past 40 years. Additionally, he has taught private vocal and piano lessons, and some of his students have gone on to professional singing careers. Steve is the proud father of three children and one grandchild, and the lucky husband of his wife, Angela.
Again this year, Sean Keith Thompson joins us as Stage Director. Sean has been involved with numerous theater companies in southeast Texas and has directed dozens of shows. He was honored to receive the 2022 Broadway World Award for Best Director, and was for several years Producer, Head Writer and Director of the Houston Press Club's annual satirical review, the Gridiron Show. Since 2010, Sean has been the Artistic Director of the community theater troupe which was known as Upstage Theatre when it was based in the Houston Heights area, and now is the Points North Theatre Company since its relocation to The Woodlands, where Sean also serves as News and Content Editor of the digital information resource website, Woodlands Online.
